Award-Winning Romanza Interior Design Helps Buyers Personalize Their Homes

Creating stunning spaces that highlight new trends in color, fabrics and finishes, Romanza Interior Design elevates home styling to an art form.

Transcending the beautiful physical structure of a home to capture the essence of its residents, Romanza’s design professionals have defined Southwest Florida’s luxury lifestyle for nearly two decades in Naples.

Romanza and its experienced team of professionals have earned an industry-wide reputation for delivering unparalleled interior and architectural services – with a singular focus on each client.

Whether creating the interior design for a private residential home in Old Naples or one of London Bay Homes’ newest model homes in Port Royal, the Romanza team is always focused on creating lasting memory points in a well-loved home.

A valued builder partner, the professionals at Romanza Interior Design are often part of the initial home design discussion providing input on aspects like ceiling height or a room’s square footage to ensure that a certain lighting fixture, piece of art or oversized dining table that a homeowner desires will fit in a space.

For the Chelston custom estate model by London Bay Homes in Old Naples, Romanza designer Melissa Allen opted for an island-inspired look, choosing features like natural walnut wood flooring in main gathering areas, white cabinetry and glass-tile backsplash in the kitchen, clean-lined British Colonial and woven furnishings and a lively color palette of rainforest citrus, teal, coral, butter and eggplant that stand out against off-white backgrounds.

“It’s a brand-new home with plenty of modern elements, but it also draws inspiration from homes you might have seen in Florida or the Caribbean many years ago making it a perfect fit for its Old Naples location,” said Allen.

The three-bedroom Chelston model, which has earned six national awards, spans 4,227 square feet within two stories. Its open floor plan emphasizes indoor-outdoor living and features connecting spaces between great room, kitchen and breakfast café to multiple alfresco areas. Outdoor spaces include dining and seating areas, an outdoor kitchen and a secluded fire pit – all enjoying the soundtrack of a freestanding fountain, the backdrop of a custom linear-designed pool and spa, and trellises playing with sunlight and shadows.

The indoor-outdoor emphasis is also introduced in the least expected place – a sliding glass door in the master bathroom shower leading to an outdoor shower garden with a trickling water fountain.

The Chelston also offers a study, formal dining room, great room, a first-floor master suite and a generously sized 1,284-square-foot second floor with a loft, wet bar and two guest rooms with walk-in closets and private bathrooms.

An office and oversized walk-in pantry closet connect kitchen to laundry room, spaces that enhance the Chelston’s livability yet demonstrate a flexibility to repurpose the area as a hobby room, a wine cellar or a studio for specific interests.

Romanza Senior Design Director Jennifer Stevens embraced sophisticated style at the custom estate at 4395 Gordon Drive, incorporating elements like honed stone and wood plank flooring, accent panels made of wenge and other exotic woods, and white and high-gloss lacquer walnut cabinetry in the kitchen. A custom walnut-paneled wine room she designed can also accommodate approximately 300 bottles.

The home also offers a large great room with two sitting areas for formal or casual gatherings. “The light coming off the cove in the morning fills this room with an ethereal feel for enjoying coffee on the sectional or gathering in the evening on the four smaller scale lounge chairs for cocktails and conversation while taking in the sunsets” said Stevens.

Stevens and the Romanza team also came up with a concept to have the bed in the master suite face a wall of glass sliding doors showcasing the cove and mangroves. Stevens custom designed a chenille and leather upholstered full-height headboard and incorporated motorized blackout shades that can be accessed from the bed. The room features a palette of soft blues, blue-grays, charcoal and tan tones and simple patterned fabric.

The master suite also offers a large double-entry closet featuring Poliform custom cabinetry with built-in dressers and mirrors, and dual bathrooms. The suite also offers a master terrace with a fireplace, chaise and a collection of contemporary furnishings selected by Romanza.

The estate also offers a second-floor VIP Suite and additional guest room along with a ground-floor guest room with a private full bathroom and contemporary styled built-in wardrobe, dresser and shelves with wood and lacquer finishes.

Stevens’ work was recently recognized with numerous Sand Dollar Awards for Interior Design of the Year, Best Master Suite and Best Kitchen Design and Silver Aurora Awards for Best Interior Detailing and Best Bath Merchandising.

No detail has been overlooked in these model homes, and Romanza takes the same approach when working with individual homeowners to create personalized interior design plans.

“When we were choosing things for our home, they spent so many hours listening to what we liked, showing us tiles and knobs, the size of the door – every little detail,” said homeowners Alberto and Chris Negro. “Some evenings they stayed until 7 o’clock working with us. That was incredible.”

For Jim and Susan Buda, the Romanza team brought in elements reflecting their love of Italy and made the entire design process an enjoyable experience for the couple, who’d gone through seven previous home builds. “The Romanza team made it as easy as any experience we’ve ever had,” said Jim Buda. “The end product was far beyond what we expected, and it’s the most beautiful home that we have ever been in in our lives.
