Romanza Interior Design’s expert approach to enhancing living spaces is on full display at Moorings Park Grande Lake, Naples’ newest luxury Life Plan Community. Romanza designer Luann Powers Gliwski took advantage of the soaring ceilings and light-filled living spaces in the Moorings Park Grande Lake residences to create two distinctive designs.
“We used the foyer spaces to set the tone and preview the palette used throughout the residences,” said Gliwski.
In the Brook model, a 3,905-square-foot residence boasting three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths, an organic sculptural chandelier at Moorings Park Grande Lake picks up the light from the contemporary abstract art that foreshadows the taupes, sapphire blues and metallic finishes woven throughout the home.
White washed wire brushed wood floors unite living spaces, including the great room, where a warm charcoal wood stain wet bar with a bronze mirror backsplash offers stylish storage and a built-in stainless wine refrigerator. Built-in illuminated niches with textured metallic bronze wallpaper create a focal point to showcase art and accessories around a media console.
A neutral kitchen overlooking the great room with stunning views of the lake features a glass mosaic tile backsplash that mixes taupes and creams with iridescent capiz stone and complements light taupe-painted contemporary profile cabinetry and a dramatic quartz-topped waterfall island.
In the owner’s suite, a king-size bed is flanked by two mirror-clad niches, with nightstands and a matching dresser in a champagne metallic finish. A textured bronze metallic wallcovering on the headboard wall is adorned with a piece of contemporary artwork.
In the 2,776-square foot Cascade model, elegant porcelain tile anchors living spaces, with veining in shades of cream and beige adding depth and dimension. Along with a modern-minded metal and glass coffee table, a sofa and a pair of chairs in coordinating neutral chenille are joined by a modern-minded Ultrasuede accent chair.
“In both residences, we wanted to highlight the flexibility of the space and maximize seating,” said Gliwski.
The dining room features a sculptural metal and acrylic chandelier, a custom-designed metallic bronze-finished parsons table and an illuminated niche highlighting a triptych of coordinating contemporary art.
In the kitchen, soft white shaker style cabinetry and an eye-catching herringbone backsplash complement soft white quartz countertops and sleek stainless appliances. The soft white theme continues in the owner’s bath, where the suspended dual vanity is opposite a shower of horizontally-stacked taupe tile. In the study, a warm brown mid-century inspired desk is paired with a basketweave-front credenza and a geometric bronze collage wall sculpture.
Romanza Interior Design also masterfully showcases the possibilities that can unfold when they collaborate with a client. Designer Melissa Allen transformed a Moorings Park resident’s new 3,380-square foot Spring floor plan into an updated version of a classic “Old Naples” beach house design.
“Our client has lived with the vibrancy of color for many years in both her Florida and northern homes, and she wanted to evoke the same feel, but in a more modern way,” said Allen.
Allen’s design used light wire brushed oak floors and clean white ceilings, millwork and upholstery as the perfect foil for the client’s preferred palette of pink and turquoise.
In the kitchen, white Shaker-style cabinets with a cove detail are paired with a ceramic white gloss backsplash in a herringbone patters and a waterfall island of Pompeii quartz statuario. White lighting fixtures and lamp and sconce shades contrast with the crisp use of color on the walls and vibrant upholstery on the island and breakfast nook chairs.
Trim work adds architectural interest in the residence, most notably with a white painted applied panel detail on accent walls in the great room and master bedroom.
Throughout the home, Allen incorporated the owner’s nostalgic accessories and reframed her personal art collection. In the study, a Murphy bed system with bookshelves accommodates a collection of antique books, family photos and mementos.
